Rockville Little Theatre is actively seeking a director for the second show of their 77th season (2024-2025). The play is Kindertransport by Diane Samuels and performance dates are January 31, 2025 – February 9, 2025 (6 performances total).
Due to construction work at the F. Scott Fitzgerald, RLT will produce this show at the JCC Bender/Kreeger Auditorium, a traditional 250-seat house, in MD.
Kindertransport is a modern classic about one woman’s struggle to come to terms with her past – brutally separated from her German Jewish parents at the age of 9 and brought to England with the promise of a new life. This play examines the life, during World War II and afterwards, of a Kindertransport child. Though fictitious, it is based upon many real Kindertransport stories.

Please note, RLT’s winter slot is typically our Page-to-Stage production where we offer a daytime matinee (10 a.m. performance) to students. As the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre will be under construction, RLT plans to offer this production as a touring show to the local high school(s). Up to two performances are planned. Directors may wish to include in their proposals how they plan to stage this work in order to easily adapt it for another theatre space.
All our shows use Open Casting, with no roles pre-selected. RLT is committed to diversity, open to non- traditional casting, and actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All roles are unpaid.
