Play Submission for our 2011-2012 Season:

Rockville Little Theatre is seeking DIRECTORS for our next season:

September 16-25, 2011
January 27-February 5, 2012
April 27 - May 6, 2012

PLUS sometime around March - at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn

We perform our mainstage productions in the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in the Rockville Civic Center Park, located near downtown Rockville, Maryland. The theatre is an excellent venue, recently remodeled with just under 500 seats. We are a volunteer organization, and our plays are cast through an open audition process (with no roles precast). We present our three mainstage plays in a season package along with two musicals presented by Rockville Musical Theatre, thus we do not produce musicals ourselves.

We also perform smaller productions at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn, an intimate 99-seat space. Our 2010 show ran for three weekends in March, and we assume that this will also apply to future shows. (We are also scheduled for three weekends this December - On Golden Pond)

We invite directors to submit plays they would like to direct. We will be accepting submissions at ANY time during the year. If you are interested in directing for the 2011-2012 season, please submit up to three plays (preferably representing different genres) by October 29, 2010. Your submission should include:

Resume (even if you have directed with us before)
Cover letter indicating your play preference and availability for each of the season dates
Play decription form for each play
Download the form as PDF or as RTF (which you can open in your word processor and edit)
Copy of script - we will return this to you (no library books please). If you can send us multiple copies, that would be great, and it would facilitate the work of our selection committee.

If you do not have easy access to the scripts, please submit the other material now so that we know of your interest and we will work out the actual script submission with you.
